DESCRIPTION:The Self-Advocate Presenter Program is for people who have completed the Self-Advocate Speakers’ Training (SAST)\, graduates of the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP)\, and current DVU Ambassadors who want to become leaders and trainers. \nIn this program\, you will: \n\nLearn about the regional center system\, services\, supports\, and rights.\nBuild your leadership and presentation skills.\nLearn how to teach and train others.\nPractice answering questions and sharing information.\nHelp self-advocates\, families\, professionals\, and community members better understand disability services.\n\nAfter you complete the program\, you may have opportunities to work as a paid trainer or presenter. \nAll trainings will be held on Zoom. \nTraining dates: \n\nSeptember 22: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.\nSeptember 29: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.\nOctober 13: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.\n\nDeadline to apply: Sunday\, September 13\, 2026. \nPlease complete the application in Google Forms.
