Self-Determination Program Conference 2025

Date: October 10, 2025
Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location: Los Angeles, CA
All

The self-determination program (SDP) is a different way to fund and plan Regional Center services, providing more flexibility and control. Under the SDP program, individuals and their families can coordinate and purchase services outside of the usual Regional Center system.

SDP provides individuals served and their families with more freedom, control, and responsibility in choosing services and supports to help them meet objectives in their Individual Program Plan. SDP participants have the power to manage their budget, choose and negotiate rates with community providers, and decide how to use public funds, giving them greater independence and responsibility.  Participants are responsible for staying within their annual budget.

The Self-Determination Program is based on beliefs that people —

  • Validate those decisions through maintaining ongoing control
  • Plan their own lives and make their own decisions
  • Determine how funding is spent for their services and supports
  • Plan and choose their own formal and informal supports
  • Take responsibility for the decisions made

All

Join Inclusive Sol for a laid-back Fall picnic playdate with CP families and friends ahead of World CP Day (October 6)!

Pack your favorite lunch or snacks, toss a blanket or chair in the car, and enjoy a leisurely afternoon at the park. All ages are welcome—whether you’re part of the CP community, a sibling, a friend, or an ally.

The playground is accessible, and there’s plenty of space to relax, share stories, and enjoy time together. Kids can bring bubbles, chalk, or a favorite game, and adults can swap tips, encouragement, and laughs (while keeping an eye on the little ones).

Show your spirit with a splash of green—whether it’s socks, a ribbon, or a full-blown green ensemble! Most of all, just come as you are.

No RSVP needed—drop by, connect, and be part of a relaxed afternoon of community. Together, we can celebrate what makes each of us unique while remembering that when we come together, we can make real change. With over 50 million people with CP worldwide, this simple act of connection is part of a much bigger story—we are unique, and we are united.
